Description
The Egyptian god Anubis. This is an older drawing of him from when I was just starting to learn how to draw anthro, but I still really like it.
Anubis is the god of embalming and of the dead, the Weigher of Hearts in the Hall of Final Judgement. He's the one who presides over the big scales that determine whether a soul will enter Paradise or Hell. He's the bastard son of Osiris and Nephthys, and this fact still weighs on him heavily to this day. He has a very kind nature, and is particularly well disposed toward mortals (despite his job as the Deathbringer), but can also be sullen and moody, and sometimes has a problem with authority. He's one of my favorite gods.
But then again like 99.9% of the artist community seems to love Anubis.
